The 59th brigade specifically seems to have retained an unusually high percentage of its original complement (60-70%).

Was about to remark that having kept 60-70% of the personnel of the beginning of the war looks like a very good result - better than I expected. Of course, for infantry the figure will be worse and the 59th Motorized Brigade hasn’t been involved in particularly bloody and destructive battles unlike some other brigades; still, considering that they have been committed in the southern front since the beginning of the invasion (they were the ones covering the border with Crimea), played a role in the Kherson counteroffensive and have been covering their current sector around Pervomaiske since December 2022 these indeed seem good figures to me.

About the manpower issue: the 1st Assault Battalion “Da Vinci’s Wolves”, the one raised by Dmytro Kotsiubailo (one of the branches of the former Ukrainian Volunteer Corps, the military arm of Pravy Sektor) very recently split and several companies left the 67th Mechanized Brigade and recreated the “Da Vinci’s Wolves” Battalion within the 59th Motorized Brigade. As far as I have seen that’s because there had been disagreements, apparently political in nature, between Alina Mykhailova (the fiancée of the fallen Kotsiubailo) and other battalion’s officers against the battalion and brigade commands. To my knowledge they still have to be deployed in the 59th Brigade’s sector and I think they are currently in the rear training new recruits, but it may be a welcome help for their new host brigade.

An M1A1 Abrams in service with the 47th Mechanized Brigade has been geolocated between Berdychi and Stepove (I have to post the link to Twitter as Nitter died). So we have confirmation both that there has just been the first deployment to the front of the Abrams and that the 47th Brigade finally got its Abrams-fielding tank battalion - Militaryland had written it was originally intended for it but it was detached from the rest of the brigade as it would not have been ready by June ‘23.

It might be possible that the 47th Brigade’s remaining Leopard 2A6s will be transferred entirely to the 21st Mechanized Brigade (which already operates Leopard 2A5/6s) - we shall see.

I was under the impression Poland had transferred 60 PT-91s. In any case, they are operated at least by the 22nd and 117th Mechanized Brigades.
